I spent a day in Deal, Kent photographing picturesque seaside scenes, featuring the iconic Deal Pier, colourful boats on shingle beaches, and the charming narrow streets of Middle Street.

The town provides dramatic lighting for coastal, architectural, and street photography, especially along the waterfront.

The iconic white beach huts in Deal and Walmer, Kent, are a prominent feature of the shingle coastline, particularly along the Walmer promenade.

Deal Castle, a stunning Tudor artillery fortress built by Henry VIII between 1539 and 1540, it was designed to defend England against a threatened invasion from France and the Holy Roman Empire.

Conclusion: A day of photography in Deal, Kent, offers a rich mix of maritime, architectural, and candid portrait opportunities, best characterized by its faded coastal charm and strong community character.
